The ceiling of the Kaaba and its interior walls are covered with a curtain made of red silk and embroidered with the Muslim recitation of faith, and some of the 99 Most Beautiful Names of God, written in Arabic in Thuluth script with white fabric in the form of repeated numbers of seven and eight. This cloth was made every year, and the old one was distributed among Mecca’s rulers and Banū Shaybah.
